Recently California State University Summer Arts and the Entertainment Industry Institute presented a three-day Media Arts Festival at CSU's Northridge campus. The highlight of the festival was the presentation of the 2000 Rosebud Award to DGA Past President Delbert Mann.

Named for the sled in Citizen Kane, the Rosebud Award is given annually by the CSU system to an industry professional whose body of work has been outstanding and stood the test of time. Following the presentation, Mann participated in a Q&A session discussing a number of subjects including his television productions such as Marty, (Mann also directed the theatrical version for which he won the DGA Award and Oscar for Best Director) Our Town with Frank Sinatra and All Quiet on the Western Front with Richard Thomas.
