Rob Feld

Rob Feld

"For every filmmaker I spoke with, it seemed necessary to speak to two more," says Feld on reporting "Reality Check." Feld lives a double life as an independent writer-producer and journalist. He is a regular contributor to the Quarterly as well as to Newmarket Press’ “Shooting Script” series. He splits his time between New York and L.A.

James Bennett

Bennett’s (Clint Eastwood cover) illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, Time and Sports Illustrated. He recently completed work on the picture book The 2,000 Year Old Man, written by Mel Brooks. In 2003, he illustrated Tell Me A Scary Story… But Not Too Scary by Carl Reiner, and in 2002, he illustrated Halloween by Jerry Seinfeld.

Ann Farmer

Ann Farmer

Working on "It’s a Juggle Out There," Farmer marveled at the non-stop schedule of UPMs. “If I was burning the midnight oil in New York, I could usually track them down on the set in L.A. I don’t know how they keep going, but I want some of what they’ve got.” Farmer writes for The New York Times and covers pop culture for Emmy, Dance Magazine and Time Out NY. She lives in Brooklyn.

Robert Abele

Abele (Shot to Remember) is a writer and critic on film and television whose work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the LA Weekly and Variety.

Amy Dawes

Dawes (On the Job With) is a freelance writer based in Los Angeles. She is a former reporter and senior editor at Variety. She is the author of Sunset Boulevard: Cruising the Heart of Los Angeles.

Scott Foundas

Scott Foundas

Meeting with Clint Eastwood at his bungalow on the Warner Bros. lot for the DGA Interview, Foundas was struck by the informality of the man and his surroundings. “It could just as well be the office of a former California politician as the office of one of Hollywood’s biggest directors. Until you realize that it’s both.” Foundas is film editor and chief critic for the LA Weekly.

Dade Hayes

Hayes (Director’s Voice) is a senior writer for Entertainment Weekly and was formerly an editor and reporter for Variety. He is co-author of Open Wide: How Hollywood Box Office Became a National Obsession, which will be published in May 2006.

Libby Slate

Libby Slate

As a longtime figure skating writer and fan of the Winter Games, Slate was delighted with her assignment to interview Olympic directors for “Calling the Shots.” “They’re responsible for the images seen by millions, in such a high-pressure, high-stakes situation, yet they’re so calm and confident.” Slate writes for Emmy, the Los Angeles Times and has contributed to numerous other publications.

Henry Sheehan

Sheehan (Screening Room) is president of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and has written for Film Comment, Sight and Sound and the LA Weekly. He appears as a regular panelist on KPCC-FM’s “Film Week.”
