On Friday, September 19, the DGA hosted a screening of Director Tomm Moore’s animated feature The Secret of Kells, at the Guild’s theatre complex in Los Angeles.

The film was presented by the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland (SDGI) as part of the International Association of English Speaking Directors Organizations (IAESDO) Screening Series. The DGA hosts the series as part of its support for IAESDO, an organization that also represents five other director’s organizations in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and Canada.

Based on the DGA’s own successful model — the Director’s Finder Series, which spotlights undistributed low budget and/or independent feature films directed by DGA members — the Guild has invited the other members of IAESDO to select films not released in the US for screening at the DGA.

Following the screening, Moore participated in a Q&A session moderated by DGA director-member Paul Quinn (Never Get Outta the Boat).
