New York's Urbanworld Film Festival has been a staple of the film community for over the past eight years. An active participant in the festival for the past four years, this year the DGA sponsored a luncheon for over 60 Urbanworld filmmakers at the Soul Cafe on August 5, 2004.
DGA director-members Michael Schultz and Stacy Spikes spoke to the filmmakers about the challenges of independent filmmaking and fielded questions about the DGA.
