On Saturday, September 8, members joined the African American Steering Committee (AASC) in the Los Angeles headquarters boardroom for the seminar: “Our Stories.” The seminar featured Directors Ernest Dickerson (Never Die Alone); Leonard Garner, Jr. (According To Jim); and Ken Whittingham (Ugly Betty); UPM/Producer Leslie Jackson-Houston (The New Adventures of Old Christine); and AD/Producer Preston Holmes (Waist Deep) speaking about how they broke into the business and found continued success. The “Our Stories” event was moderated by Director/AASC Co-Chair Millicent Shelton (My Name is Earl).
