On October 12th, DGA Honors will be the New York nexus of entertainment, business, labor and politics - an event as unique as the individuals it recognizes. 2006 HONOREES (partial list) Michael Bloomberg, Mayor, New York City Danny Glover, Actor/Director/Humanitarian Arthur Penn, Director Past honorees have included influential filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Mike Nichols, Sydney Pollack, Spike Lee, Curtis Hanson, Jonathan Demme and Robert Altman, as well as powerful leaders in entertainment, labor and politics such as actor/director Robert De Niro; NewLine Cinema CEO Bob Shaye, former Paramount Pictures Chair Sherry Lansing, Producer Lorne Michaels; former NEA Chairwoman Jane Alexander; Senator Ted Kennedy; AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, and IATSE President Tom Short.
