| Following meetings with members to address the lack of opportunities for minority members of the DGA on film productions in the Midwest, the Midwest Minority Steering Committee (MMSC) conducted a meeting on Monday, June 12, 2006 at the 410 Club in Chicago.. |
|
|
The MMSC seeks to build relationships that will help create employment opportunities and assist the Guild’s efforts to support diversity employment practices. The MMSC’s first initiative, the Midwest Minority Member Contact List, was created to inform regional productions of the availability and experience of minority members. The DGA will be distributing the Contact List to Illinois-based film and television projects with a cover letter urging producers to engage in good faith efforts in improve diverse hiring practices.
