DGA Magazine VOL 28-3: September 2003

The Guild's San Francisco Coordinating Committee (SFCC), which represents DGA members in the Bay Area, have elected five members to serve a two-year term as part of the Executive Committee (EC).

SFCC members John Slosser, Grace Liu, Hiro Narita, Jani Vournas, and Frank Simeone will join sitting EC members Gino Caputi, David Hakim, Bob Mooney, and Paul Martin. Slosser, Narita, Vournas, and Simeone have previously served on the EC. This is Liu’s first election to the EC.

During the February meeting, SFCC Chair Paul Martin was re-elected to a third term and John Slosser was re-elected Vice-Chair. Grace Liu was elected to the post of Secretary and David Hakim was elected Treasurer. The EC also named the chairs and members of the SFCC’s sub-committees with the Education Committee chaired by Gino Caputi, who will serve with members Cathy Hammer, David Hakim, Alex Soranno, Gabe Hanly, and John Slosser; the Mentoring Committee chaired by Alex Soranno and comprised of members David Hakim and John Slosser; the Networking Committee chaired by John Slosser with members Cathy Hammer and Alex Soranno; the Screening Committee chaired by Rufus Pederson with Hiro Narita, Jani Vournas, and Gabe Hanly as members; and the Production Information & News Committee (PinC) chaired by Grace Liu with member Frank Simeone assisting.

The SFCC was formed in 1978 to coordinate Guild activities in the entire Bay Area region and hosts a number of educational presentations and networking events during the year, in order to fulfill its objectives of facilitating the exchange of ideas among members, maintaining contacts with other guilds and unions, and furthering professional opportunities for all Northern California members.
