On Sunday, March 4, 2007, the Directors Guild of America presented a tribute honoring the late Robert Altman in the theatre complex of the Guild’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Following greetings and a welcome from DGA President Michael Apted, the tribute featured testimonials from co-workers and friends including: directors Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, Alan Rudolph and Mark Rydell; actors Elliott Gould, Robin Williams, Michael Murphy, Garrison Keillor, Laura Dern, Malcolm McDowell, Robert Graham and Angelica Huston; Altman’s sons Michael, Stephen, Robert Reed and Matthew; and special musical performances by actor Sally Kellerman, Bill Henderson and the Van Dyke Parks Quartet. The afternoon also included a screening of a special Robert Altman film tribute compiled by director Chuck Workman.
