Kicking off the Annual DGA Awards Day each year, the Annual Nominee Breakfast offers honorees in all categories the opportunity to mingle with their fellow nominees and officers of the Guild in an informal atmosphere, preceding the “Meet the Nominees: Feature Film” Symposium.

The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles was once again the setting for the DGA Awards dinner and ceremony. In addition to the nominees and celebrity presenters, the event was attended by DGA Members, industry VIPs and guests, all there to celebrate the nominees for outstanding directorial achievements for the year 2005.

During the dinner, and ahead of the ceremony, the Century Plaza Ballroom was abuzz with activity as nominees and well-wishers got in their final congratulations before the envelopes were opened and the winners announced.

Following the welcome speech from DGA President/Dramatic Series Night Nominee (and winner) Michael Apted to an audience of 1,800 guests, Actor/Director/Comedian Carl Reiner hosted the Awards ceremony for the twentieth time.
