Archibald the Rainbow Painter, a story of family and relationships, also interweaves a strong message regarding the long-lasting influences of war. It follows the lives of two Vietnam vets; Archie a successful housepainter, who still has problems connecting with people emotionally and J.P. once a successful lawyer, now an alcoholic, who has lost everything. Archie not only serves as the catalyst who helps J.P. reunite with his family but comes to terms with the problems of his own life as well.
