From June 4 to June 5, the fourth biennial World Creators Summit took place in Washington, DC.   Organized by CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers of which the DGA is a member, the World Creators Summit brought together numerous directors, writers, authors, visual artists, policymakers, and artists’ organizations from around the world to discuss issues of importance to the creative community in the digital age.

Following the keynote speech in which U.S. Register of Copyrights Maria Pallante shared her thoughts on copyright reform efforts, DGA Sixth Vice President Vincent Misiano participated in the panel discussion “The US agenda – the Perspective from the Creators.” In addition to Misiano, the panel included writer and Authors’ Guild President Scott Turow, Writers Guild of America Board Member Marjorie David, and Songwriters Guild of America President Rick Carnes, and moderator John Simson, business and entertainment program director of the Kogod School of Business of the American University.
