November 12, 2015 A San Francisco Coordinating Committee Event

On November 12, the DGA’s San Francisco Coordinating Committee (SFCC) held its 2015 Fall Networking Mixer. Held at The City Club of San Francisco, the evening gave Bay Area-based Guild members and local industry professionals an opportunity to socialize and network with their peers as they celebrated the Northern California film, television and video/digital industry.

After welcoming addresses from SFCC Chair John Morse, Vice-Chair Kathleen Courtney and Networking Subcommittee Chair Ted Leonard, the Committee presented DGA Award-winning Director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) with a certificate of merit in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the film community of Northern California, such as his recent project Steve Jobs which filmed in the area.

In addition to Steve Jobs, Boyle’s filmography includes the feature films Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, The Beach, 28 Days Later..., 127 Hours; the movies for television The Nightwatch, Scout, Strumpet; episodes of the television series Inspector Morse, For the Greater Good; and the pilot for the mini-series Babylon. Boyle won the Academy Award and the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Slumdog Millionaire. He joined the DGA in 2009.
