On May 7, Second Assistant Directors from the Eastern region joined members of the AD/UPM Council East’s Second AD Committee for their Fourth Annual Second AD Afternoon Tea. Held in the seventh floor boardroom of the Guild’s New York offices, the gathering was designed to give members of this category a chance to have their voices heard and exchange ideas with their colleagues.
Following a welcome from Committee Co-Chairs Arianne Apicelli, John Silvestri, and Dana Zolli, the attendees all separated into smaller groups moderated by Committee members, where they engaged in roundtable discussions of new ideas and were able to have their questions answered by experienced members and DGA staff. Topics of exploration included subjects such as working on second units and photo shoots, training modules and mentoring.

The AD/UPM Council East Second Assistant Directors Committee addresses issues that concern the members of this category and encourages dialogue amongst members in an effort to bring awareness, devise solutions to problems and continue education and growth.
