The DGA hosted a reception in Los Angeles for filmmakers whose projects have been accepted into the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

At the New York reception on December 15, Cooper and Groth repeated their festival advisory duties, DGA Independent Directors Committee-East Co-Chair Mary Harron (The Moth Diaries) spoke about how the Guild has allowed her to stay true to her Indie-feature roots, and DGA Special Assignments Executive Mike Ryan gave information about the Guild. Also attending the reception were DGA Director-members with films at this year’s Sundance Festival including: Maggie Greenwald (Sophie and the Rising Sun), Bob Hercules (Maya Angelou: The People’s Poet), Bob Hawk (Film Hawk), Joshua Marston (Complete Unknown), and Ira Sachs (Little Men).
