The DGA’s Independent Directors Committees (IDC) hosted receptions in Los Angeles and New York for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival Filmmakers.
In Los Angeles on December 10, Sundance’s Festival Director John Cooper and other Sundance staffers offered survival tips to the filmmakers and Director Gil Cates, Jr. (The Surface) spoke about how the Guild’s flexibility makes it possible to be an independent filmmaker and still enjoy the myriad protections offered by DGA membership.
At the New York reception on December 16, Cooper repeated his festival advisory duties while IDC-East Co-Chair Dan Algrant (Greetings from Tim Buckley) spoke about the many advantages of Guild membership.
