Brett Ratner: Hercules

August 2, 2014 A DGA Q&A in Los Angeles

The legendary strongman returns to big screen glory in Director Brett Ratner’s new action feature, Hercules.

After completing his fabled twelve labors and suffering the loss of his family, Hercules (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), the half-human/half-god son of Zeus, has turned his back on Olympus and is living out his days as a mercenary with a band of like-minded warriors. His prowess called upon when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord. But all may not be as straightforward as it seems.

Ratner spoke about the making of the film in a conversation with Director Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy) after the DGA screening in Los Angeles on August 2.

In addition to Hercules, Ratner's work includes the feature films Tower Heist, X-Men: The Last Stand, After the Sunset, The Family Man and the Rush Hour trilogy; the movies for television Rogue, Cop House and Blue Blood; the pilot episodes of the television series Chaos and Prison Break; and the short Whatever Happened to Mason Reese. He has been a member of the DGA since 1996.
