On February 23, the DGA Eastern AD/UPM Council’s Second Assistant Directors Committee held their inaugural Second AD Afternoon Tea. The event was titled Examining the Present – Negotiating the Future and was held in the 7th Floor Boardroom of the Guild’s offices in New York.
Eastern Second ADs joined the members of the Committee to share their ideas and experiences about the issues affecting this category. Following the welcome from the Committee’s Co-Chairs, the attendees separated into smaller discussion groups to brainstorm ideas and share their experiences with members of the committee. Topics of exploration included staffing issues, set safety and new member education.
The Second Assistant Directors Committee is co-chaired by Daniela Barbosa, Francisco Ortiz and Jennifer Truelove. The members include Arianne Apicelli, Adam Bernard, Kate Bogle, Jason Booth, Erica Fishman, Sarah Rae Garrett, Jason Hightower, Shane Kalman, Matt Lake, Jeremy Marks, Les McDonough, Kenyon Noble, Brian Papworth, Alison Rosa, and Dana Zolli.
