Documentary Series Screens "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired"

May 13, 2009 A Special Projects Committee Event

On May 13, the DGA's new Documentary Series presented its second offering with a screening of director Marina Zenovich's Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired in the Guild's Los Angeles Theatre.

The film examines the conviction of Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor following a photo shoot for a magazine, and his subsequent flight from the USA, challenging many of the myths surrounding the case via interviews with key players.

Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired was a 2009 nominee for the Broadcast Film Critics Association's Critics Choice Award for Best Documentary Feature, the 2008 Gotham Awards' Best Documentary award, and the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. After the screening and an introduction by DGA Documentary Award Committe Chair Lynne Littman, Zenovich discussed the film with Documentary Series Committee Chair Chuck Workman.
