Meet the interviewer:
Dency Nelson is a stage manager and associate director who has worked on some of the largest and most well-known musical variety specials. These include The Academy Awards, The Grammy Awards, The Screen Actors Guild Awards, The Daytime Emmy Awards, The Kennedy Center Honors, and The People’s Choice Awards, as well as the television series ER, Comedy Central Presents, The Drew Carey Show, Wheel of Fortune, America’s Got Talent, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
A member of the Directors Guild since 1981, Nelson was the recipient of the Franklin J. Schaffner Award in 2013, given to an Associate Director or Stage Manager in recognition of their service to the industry and the Guild. Nelson has also been part of seven different DGA Award-winning teams for the Musical/Variety category. An active member of the Guild, Nelson has served on the Western AD/SM/PA Council since 2001 and on the 2005, 2008, and 2011 Negotiating Committees.
