After completing the DGA’s Assistant Directors Training Program, Yudi Bennett worked as Second Assistant Director on films like The Seduction of Joe Tynan and Kramer vs. Kramer.
She then served as First Assistant Director on over 20 films including The Chosen; Broadcast News; Honeymoon in Vegas; The Client; Star Trek: Generations; The Baby-Sitters Club; The Game; and Pleasantville, as well as notable movies for television such as Out on a Limb, Annie, and The Beach Boys: An American Family.
Yudi Bennett served on the DGA’s West Coast AD/UPM/TC Council from 1991 to 2006, with three terms as First Vice-Chair of the Council. She was also a member of the Council’s Safety Committee, Community Service Committee, Mentor Committee, and Benefits Committee. From 1997 to 2005, she served on the DGA’s National Board, the Board of the DGA Foundation, and has also been a Trustee of the DGA Pension and Health Plan. In 2003, Yudi Bennett received the Frank Capra Achievement Award in recognition of her career achievements and service to the Directors Guild of America.
